Galileo Galilei played a very important role in the Renaissance. He was the person who found out about space. Galileo was also one of the most famous humanists of the renaissaunce. He told people that the earth revolved around the sun, and taught about gravity, and how you can drop two things of different weight at the same time, and they will still land at the same time. He gave people a gift that rarely any people had: Knowledge.
People, of higher standards, didn't like this. Because Galileo was smarter than them, he was getting all the attention of the people. Not only would the people think that all the answers didn't come from the church, but they would be taking the information from one person, and he has proof of his knowledge.
Galileo created plans for a clock, the pendulum clock, however, the plan didn't go through, for he died shortly after, in the early 1642.
