The Pope
The pope was one the most important people in the renaissance.
Because so little has been discovered, people believed
the church had all the answers. Christians took this to their
advantage. It is even said that the Church would "invoke the wrath of God"
(by burning them at the stake) on people if they thought those people could overpower them somehow, or if they broke
the law.
Since there were so many individual thinkers, there was a lot of conflict that would happen, because the church for so long had dictated what people believed. Now, science and religion would begin to blend.
There started to become more individual thinkers, and they would emphasize their ideas and values, and at that time, art and history started to become important. Humanists started to do more research in science, such as with Galileo.
